I spent a lengthy amount of time searching for a decent Network Marketing company to join, but I spent even longer looking around for a decent MLM coach so that I could understand what it took to do well in this business. I was fortunate and discovered one. What should you search for in a coach? Here are some characteristics to look out for.

To a large degree our success will be determined by the coaching that you get from your sponsor, particularly if you are new to the business. From the horrific stories that I have heard over the last few months it seems that there are a lot of so called mlm coaches that are not delivering the goods. I have heard of people being completely ditched by their upline soon after joining up or uplines being extremely difficult to contact and unwilling to spend time coaching their new recruits. This kind of behaviour is one of the reasons why the mlm industry has got a bad name even still to this day due to the many people who have been ripped off.

Have you had a poor upline before? I can relate to you. When I first got started in MLM, my sponsor was pretty much useless. Unfortunately for me my payments went through my upline as I hadn’t progressed enough to become directly qualified. So actually getting my money was actually quite a task! Countless telephone calls chasing my money actually ended up with me going round my sponsor’s house! Finally I was paid.

Here are some of the things you should consider when searching for a suitable MLM coach

You want to look for someone who is already having success in their business otherwise it’s a case of the blind leading the blind, observe how they present themselves, you should be able to get a pretty good idea if they are determined and hold good personal values and morals. You want ideally to find someone who has a larger and more powerful vision than you do, by spending time observing them you too can increase your vision for your future to greater heights than you could possibly imagine before. Someone with a powerful vision will be a great team leader and will have a great sponsoring system in place that you can also start using.

Make sure your chosen sponsor it not someone that just lives behind a computer, you need to be able to contact them. I don’t care what anyone says, in MLM this does not work, you must still be prepared to pick up the telephone! Test out your proposed sponsor before signing up, get them on the phone, see how helpful they are, but don’t waste their time with silly questions, they should be too busy for that. I always like to get the details of precisely what training I will be given so that I know what to expect.

The coaches that give the highest amount of front end value are always the best uplines. They provide so much great upfront training and coaching that you are already pretty clued up in the marketing game before you sign on the dotted line. This will be a hallmark of a sponsor who actually cares about your individual success. There are many mentors out there who want to see your success, obviously because they will make money but also because they just genuinely like helping other people to reach their goals and dreams.

There are certainly some unscrupulous people out there and many scammers so you need to be on your guard when seeking an MLM coach, but there are plenty of good folks around.
