How to Run and Profit From a Niche Dating Site

Health, wealth, and relationships are the three most profitable areas of online business to make money on.  Dating sites are one aspect of these incredibly profitable niches.  Statistics have shown that the use of dating sites has been on the rise with around four billion dollars being spent on online dating sites in 2010 and about 17% of couples that have married having met on online dating sites and far more than that meeting and dating.  How do you get your piece of this rather lucrative pie?  Just like any  business, by going into niche areas and running a niche dating site.

A niche dating site will be a dating site that focuses on one aspect of the relationship world.  Instead of trying to challenge big sites like Match.com, aim for smaller sections of the human race such as gay dating, lesbian dating, Hispanic dating, young adult dating (consenting age of course!) or people looking for rich spouses.  You can go with even narrower niches by focusing on hobby’s such as pets, gaming, video games, movies, and so on.  There are dozens, hundreds of niches to choose from-it’s mostly a matter of comfort level and your own expertise.  Remember, the more you know about your niche, the more you will able to share in your articles and the more attention you will attract.  In dating sites (or any social sites really), this kind of passion is important because it is what binds people together even over vast differences and if the webmaster doesn’t really care, it shows through in the site.

Once you’ve figured out your target audience, you then treat your niche dating site as you would treat any business site.  Get notice from search engines by writing (or commissioning) keyword rich articles related to your topic and submitting them to your own website and to article directories.  Make sure your site is user friendly and has fun little activities such as polls and of course well regulated forums (it’s worth it in this case to hire a moderator or two in order to make certain that forums are kept spam free and tidy).

Profits from your niche dating site will come from a few sources.  You can do AdSense or text ads on your site if you wish in order to build up your starter income and then phase them out (or keep them) and start with membership fees to use the forums and use your site as a place to hook up with others and possibly meet them.  You can also make profits on things like e-books on relationships if you’re interested in that kind of thing, but the bulk of your profits will likely come from membership subscriptions.  Make sure that you have a very secure check out system and that you can accept payment from both credit cards and PayPal (and even bank accounts if you can find secure software for it).  Many people are leery about giving out their credit card information, but they are perfectly happy to use PayPal, so it’s a good idea to hit both sources of money.  Take a look at big sites to get an idea of how they do things in order to structure your own fees properly.

Niche dating sites are a great way to make good income and help people meet and fall in love, but only if it is done properly.  Choose a niche you yourself are interested in and then market it like you would any other site, though with more emphasis on meeting and socializing than on any product.  Structure your membership fees to be as secure as possible as well as user friendly and stay competitive.  Finally, remember to keep your website friendly, but safe so that people will feel secure coming to your site to socialize.  By doing these things and adding your own spin to them, you should be able to make good money from your niche dating site.

How to use Google Adwords to Make Money Online

Google AdWords is an advertising program that allows you to post advertisements for your website on search engines and other Google affiliated websites.  While the idea behind it is good-getting the opportunity to possibly target tens of thousands of potential customers from one dashboard-many people screw this up and end up spending far more than they make from it.  This is because these AdWords are Pay per Click-every time anyone clicks on the ad, you pay for it; up to twenty five cents per click, even if the person doesn’t buy anything!  There are ways to get targeted traffic for under 25 cents a click, but it takes some education which is why it’s important to invest in a good guide to AdWords; though these tips should at least give you a bit of a grounding to work from.

Content Network: Turn it OFF

The Content Network setting is defaulted to the ON position which means you get a lot more traffic that is curious, but not necessarily committed to buying anything.  If you turn it OFF, you get more targeted, interested traffic with a vastly improved chance of buying something from you.  If you don’t want to turn it off though, go to Content Bidding where you can find ads for as low as five cents a click; an 80% savings on your pay per click!

Narrow Down Your Keywords

Just like with articles, free advertising and any almost anything else, the narrower your focus, the better.  Arrange your advertising into distinct categories based around your keywords and make sure that those words show up in the AdWords title and advertisement.  If you’re stuck for narrow keywords, use a free tool to get it; you can download all kinds of free software or use free online tools that can help you pick out the best keywords with the lowest competition.  The more specific your keywords are, the better chance you have of making sales, so keep it simple!

Figure Out How Much to Spend

You do have some control over your pay per click spending, so make the most of it so that you never spend over twenty five cents per click (and the less you spend the better of course!)  Take a look at your commission per sale and divide it by one hundred in order to get the absolute maximum you can afford to spend in order to break even and try to bid even lower than that under the assumption that you will have minimal conversion rates.  After all, you can only make more money than you expected by being conservative and careful, not less!

Change up Your Keywords

The order of keywords sometimes matters, but changing it up just a bit can help you get cheaper bids with nearly the same amount of traffic.  For example, if you are selling organic lampshades, the keyword ‘organic lampshades’ may be expensive, but bidding on something like ‘Green lampshades’ or ‘eco friendly lampshades’ or ‘lampshades, organic’ may be a bit cheaper while still giving you the same, or nearly, traffic results.  Think outside the box a little!

Coupons

Finally of course, there are the coupons; keep your eyes peeled for them.  Whether they are from article directories or from Google itself, you can sometimes get a pile of free AdWords just for signing up.  There’s no shame in getting free AdWords!

Don’t be an online sucker; Google AdWords can be an internet marketer’s dream, but unless you are willing to do some work into learning the system and be willing to listen to those who went on before you, you will end up losing more money than you make and then what’s the point of it at all?  Play it smart, keep your options open, and remember that you are online to make money, not just to show off your name everywhere you go.

How to Make Money Online Expressing Your Opinion

If it’s one thing everyone’s got, it’s an opinion.  Whether you have an opinion on politics, religion, technology, religion, war, toys, children…. like bellybuttons and skin, everyone has an opinion and most want to flaunt it at least once!  The online world has made it much easier to do just that and the potential to reach a wider audience is greater than ever before.  But in the process of telling the world what you think, can you also make money online expressing your opinions?  The answer is a resounding Yes and there are a couple of ways to do it.  How can you make money online expressing your opinions?

Take Some Surveys

Surveys are all about getting the opinion of customers and people in as easy a process as possible.  Many surveys are paid surveys; companies are willing to shell out hard cash to know peoples’ opinions on products and services.  The trick is to find the right surveys that will actually pay out in cash, not in things like points, gift certificates or chances in draws.  This requires some research and probably a few trials and errors, but in the end, you have the chance to make a bit of money just by taking a few surveys a day.  Keep in mind that you certainly are not going to get rich doing paid surveys, but it can be enough to put a little disposable income in your bank account or to launch other money making endeavours.

Write a Blog

The other common way to make money online by expression your opinion is to blog about it.  Blogs are free to start on many platforms and you can do a daily or weekly entry about your opinions on a topic or two.  Make it engaging, enjoyable and spread it around and you can monetize on it by posting AdSense or text link ads or by doing a bit of affiliate marketing related to your opinions and preferences.  Most blogs in fact are the result of people wanting to share their opinions on Something, so you shouldn’t feel like you are doing something sneaky by trying to monetize on your opinions at the same time!  Just be sure to market your blog properly and write something that is enjoyable to read or you won’t get much traffic to your website.

It’s a good idea to start your opinion blog on a free platform and concentrate on getting regular traffic.  Then, when your numbers are at a decent height, shift over to a hosting site and start monetizing your site with whatever you want to use.  Many platforms won’t let you monetize very well, so start free to build traffic and then move and start making money from your opinions.

You can make money online expressing your opinions either through the use of paid surveys or by writing a good blog about your opinions on a favoured topic.  You can even do both at the same time if you like!  Remember that if you do your job well, people are going to be interested in your opinions and some bloggers even become well known enough trusted enough to shape the opinions of others and thus be asked by companies to look over products!  Whatever you decide to do with your opinion based surveys and blogs, you can make money from them and enjoy them at the same time.  Make money online by expressing your opinions and enjoy helping others and talking about your passions at the same time.
