Backlinks are incoming links to your website; they are used in search engine optimization techniques and on a personal level, show how popular your website is in the wider world. Backlinks are also used by the Google page ranking system in order to help decide where your website should sit in the search engine results. There are countless ways of building backlinks back to your website, but there is one EASY way to build backlinks to your site in order to let you make more easy money with your online venture.
The easiest way to build backlinks is….
VISIBILITY.
Being visible means doing everything you can to throw your website out there; it’s free to do, you can use tools to automate much of your work, and you will see results fairly quickly. There are a couple of ways to make yourself visible to the search engines and other customers in a few short clicks: social bookmarking and commenting.
Social Networking
You can update social networks like Facebook and Twitter with your new blogs, products, and reviews at a click of the button through bookmarking. Bookmarking your site means reposting a link to your website along with a quick blurb of your latest work to everyone in your contact list and to everyone in the wider internet world. Social bookmarking is a fantastic way to maintain your visibility because it can be done with a few clicks of the button and costs nothing to do. Another aspect of this is Pinging. Pinging is when you tell the search engines that you’ve updated by Pinging your site; usually through something like Ping.fm. Again, pinging is free and it updates everything at the click of a button.
Commenting and Forums
The other easy way to get visible is by getting out there and commenting on other peoples’ blogs and participating in forums related to your products or services. Again, it only takes a few moments to write a comment, answer/ask a question or make other comments, but by putting your link at the end of your comment (make it a useful comment in order to avoid being tarred as a spammer), you add countless backlinking possibilities and far more visibility for absolutely free. In order to make this work, you have to both give, in terms of giving a useful comment or answering a question or contributing in some way to the community, and take by leaving your URL behind. If you make enough of a positive presence of yourself, you may even be thought of as an expert or someone worth promoting/trading links with; more free backlinking and advertising!
Visibility is the key to successful backlinking and between nearly automatic social booking marking and quick comments and forum posts, you can improve your page ranking and your backlinks by just taking a few minutes out a day to push yourself forward in the internet world. In what other job can a few minutes of work lead to many sales? It’s just that easy to get backlinks!

Twitter is a micro-blogging site; it allows you to share up to 140 characters to your following in ‘tweets’. Generally they are used for either sharing updates in your life or for sharing links about other people and this is where affiliate product marketing comes into play. Part of your campaign to make money online may include Twitter and if you are an affiliate marketer, you can use this social network platform, but only if you are savvy about it.
Rule number one with Twitter marketing is to target the right audience of followers and treat people on Twitter with respect and dignity. Look for other Tweets that are asking about your keywords and send them a comment or a message with your affiliate link. This works really well with the extremely popular topics such as health, wealth and sex, but pretty much anyone’s thing can be found on Twitter if you do a bit of looking. Don’t tweet the same affiliate message over and over again; change it up, talk about the product or service, and make sure to respond to queries and comment on other people’s tweets. Tweet other things going on in your life or funny things you’ve seen as well; that way you are a Person, not just a shapeless advertiser.
Rule number two: be a person! Set up your Twitter account with an avatar, a biography, and make sure to respond to private messages and converse with other members of Twitter. Repost people’s stuff, recommend others in your niche, and generally be active in the social network. Remember, the key here is Social network; if you aren’t sociable, no one will pay any attention to you whatsoever. Building up traffic means building up trust which means building up your social network and that takes work, though it can be really fun too. Good Twitter marketers will be doing the exact same thing, so when you promote them and their products, they may well return the favor and if they have a ton of followers, you’ll find yourself with a bunch as well; just with one tweet that took you seconds to write!
Twitter is very useful to many people looking to make money online. Each link back to your page is considered a web page which makes your website rank higher in search engines and drives more traffic to your page. However, Twitter, like many social networks only gives you as much as you put into it. You have to be active, socialize with others and be willing to swap links and names around to get it back to you. However, if you put the same effort into this aspect of making money online as you do into every other aspect, you’ll find that you get excellent returns on your time.

On most blogs and websites, you may see a symbol that is reddish-orange in color and looks like a small circle with two curved lines going off the top right hand side of the circle; this is the RSS feed button. They are most often found in a small orange box with the symbol in white, though it can be just a small text link at the top of the website. But what exactly is it and why do you need one on your own site if you want to make easy money online?
RSS stands for Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication, depending on who you listen to. What it does is allow people to easily and quickly stay up to date on all of the new updates to their favourite blogs and sites; in essence, it’s like having a mini-subscription to the site, though of course the reader won’t get all of the same perks such as knowledge of deals. RSS feeds are read on one of many different kinds of readers such as Feedreader and Newsgator, as well as many other smaller ones, such as through Yahoo or MyBlogger. Subscribing to an RSS feed means that readers can keep up with what you’re doing and that means you are able to communicate directly with your customers and readers.
Adding an RSS feed to your website is pretty easy. If you’re using a blogging platform such as WordPress or Blogger, generally the RSS feed is included as part of the platform and you don’t have to do much with it. When you do it on your own website, you can install it as part of your Dreamweaver process or simply download a tool that lets you install it. However, it is very important to remember to make an RSS feed to your money making website because they are extremely popular with readers.
Why? RSS feeds are great for the readers because they allow people to subscribe to your updated work without disclosing personal information. Many people are understandably twitchy about giving out things like their e-mail address because of fears of spam and hackers; an RSS feed requires nothing more than that the subscriber has a reader and no information is given. This makes people more willing to subscribe to your blog or website and thus you get a wider range of readers and possible customers.
Having an RSS feed on your website is a small thing, but it can mean the difference between making a bit of money and making a lot of easy money. They are incredibly convenient for your customers to use and they are easy or even automatic for you to install. It’s hard to believe that something so easy can make a difference, but it really does. Make sure you have it properly installed on your website as part of your campaign to get and keep readers and customers and you’ll make far more money than you would if you had left it off.
