How to Choose a Profitable Niche Online

Obviously at least one of your niche websites you will choose because you want to make money off it.  While going by your passions is a good idea, you should opt to have at least one ‘money making’ site; one that is far more likely to net big profits.  That’s why knowing how to choose a profitable niche online is important and who knows?  It could be that you’ll enjoy doing it anyway and if you’re careful about your research, you can find something within your passion that is still profitable.

There are a surprising number of free tools out there geared towards helping you find profitable niches, keywords and popular searches if you just know where to look for them and how to use for them.  You can also take advantage of trial software that can let you do the research into your profitable niches for free while the trial is going and then you can either buy it outright or just dump it and use your notes.  Proper utilization of these tools will allow you to build niche sites that are more profitable quicker and thus can fund your passion fuelled sites as well as the rest of your life.

Google Research

Google has some very useful tools that can help you choose a profitable niche online.  The WonderWheel allows you to choose good niche keywords to target based off of larger keywords and phrases which you type into the search engine.  The WonderWheel is not specifically geared towards finding profitable sites, but you can figure out a good list of possible niche keywords to target since it will show you stats such as how often that phrase is searched.  The more profitable your niche the more money you will make online. Another good search tool is the Google Word Tracker which can tell you how often a cluster of words has been searched in a day.  It’s a good idea to aim for niches that are searched a bare minimum of 500 times a day. Other wise you wont make enough money for your efforts.

You can also check to see how many backlinks your competition sites have in order to check on demand.  Yahoo Site Explorer has an option whereby you type in a domain name and you can check to see how many backlinks it has by checking URLs linking to it (aside from it linking to itself of course).  This will give you a good idea of how competitive your niche is.  Optimally, you want the top sites to have less than 100 backlinks so that you aren’t eternally backlinking yourself. You always want to balance how the amount you make online and your time spent working

Software

There are a number of programs out there that can help you figure out some profitable niches online by telling you statistics for searches and letting you do keyword research.  Market Samurai is a well known one; it is a comprehensive, easy to use tool that has a thirty day trial period, but there are plenty of other ones out there too.  You don’t have to use any software at all, but if you want more automated research, you can give it a spin.

In order to make a profitable site, you have to do the research into choosing a profitable niche online.  This usually at least takes a few hours or a couple of days, but it’s well worth it.  You’ll have a roadmap of articles to write, an idea of affiliates to join up with and of course a better chance of making more money online.  Make sure to do the work needed to choose a profitable niche online and you’ll make more money online by doing so.

Making Money Online With Blogging Secrets

Blogging, or keeping a web journal or log, is a popular hobby for many people, but for some, it becomes a profitable thing to do.  Blogging can be made profitable generally through advertising; you have text links or ads on your blog and when people click on them, you make money.  A very few bloggers end up syndicated or bought by larger companies and that’s how the blogger makes money.  Monetizing a blog is something most bloggers dream of doing, but rarely succeed at.  Is there a huge secret to blogging, something that only a few people have tapped?

Surprisingly, no.  Most of the so called ‘secrets’ of blogging are little more than common sense, dedication, and a bit of luck.  But, there are some things to keep in mind if you want a successful blog.  Here are four ‘write’ things to do for your profitable blog!

1.  Write Lots.  Updating your blog regularly is extremely important.  It will keep your readers interested and keep the search engines happy and ranking you high so that you get even more readers. If you can’t manage to write a new entry daily, at least manage to do it weekly; regularity is a key to a successful blog.

2.  Write relevant content.  Whatever you decide to write on, make sure that it is rich with keywords and phrases, is relevant, and is interesting to readers.   Keyword rich content will be more easily ranked by search engines and you’ll capture the attention of more interested readers who may then click on your advertising links.

3.  Write on free blogs first.  Test the waters of your blog by using a free blogging platform such as Livejournal, blogger or WordPress.com.  This will let you write your blog without worrying about paying for domain names, hosting or learning how to do website work and you can see how popular your blog is.  Then, when your blog gathers up plenty of readers and you’re on a regular rhythm of updates, you can move everything over to your own website where you can start doing more vigorous affiliate marketing or sell your own things.

4.  Write what you love.  One of the most important things that is often overlooked: write what you love.  If you are writing about things that seem profitable but you hate doing, you won’t do as good a job of it as if you write something you love that is less well known.  Your readers can sense your passion (or lack thereof) and if you start trying to coast by writing only on things that seem profitable, you’ll have bored readers and you’ll be less likely to update it.  All of these things mean that your blog will flop no matter how profitable it seems like it should be!

There are no ‘secrets’ to successful blogging, nothing that anyone is particularly holding back.  The main reason why most blogs fail is because people don’t give them enough time to become successful, they don’t write very interesting content and/or they just try to focus on money making and not on what they enjoy.  People go to blogs to get opinions, discussions, and a window on someone’s view on life, not just to have products shoved in their face.  Write what you love, write regularly and write well and your blog will do well for itself and even become profitable for it.

3 Ways to Guarantee You Make Money Online

Running a successful online business seems as though it belongs in the realm of the mystic.  You know it’s possible, but whenever you try it, something eludes you and the business fails.  After a while, it feels like there are secrets to this business that you can only have access to if you’re willing to shell out the $49.99 to get it!  However, these so-called secrets are nothing more than tricks and tips to getting the internet to work with you and they are mostly a matter of practice to master.  But there are tricks to every trade, including this one, so what are some secrets to successful online business.

Secret #1: Connections

We live in a world that to the older generation seems increasingly disconnected; the world of the internet is one where people sit in their own homes and never see each other in person.  It is hard to get rid of this line of thought, even for those who were raised with the ‘net.  If you can’t see people, how do you know that they’re there?  Why should you bother making any sort of meaningful connections with avatars and profile pictures?

Contrary to popular belief, for many people, the internet is an even closer form of communication.  Word travels instantly across the globe.  Photos can be shared, reputations rise and fall at the slash of a button, information is transmitted to million with one button; we are connected, it’s just a different kind of connection and it’s one that you ignore at your peril.  If you want a successful online business, then you have to make as many connections as possible.  Join social media sites, join forums, write articles to put on directories, make friends online!  Trust=friendship=more things being purchased from you.  Successful online entrepreneurs know this and they have more fun along the way too.

Secret #2: Treat it like a ‘Real Life’ Business

Many people who start an online business start it ‘just for a lark’ and then wonder why they fail.  There is still a prevailing attitude of confusion towards online business; if you can’t walk into a store, open it up, touch what you’re selling and see who you’re selling it to, it seems very surreal and thus less seriously taken.

If you decide that you want to make money online, you have to be serious about it and treat it as you would a business in the real world.  Make out a business plan of what you want to sell, how you’ll sell it, who you’ll sell it to and for how much.  Plan out your budget for your website, your advertising, your outsourcing (believe me, you’ll want to outsource at least once and likely you’ll end up outsourcing almost a whole area of your business, so plan for it), and a plan for ‘dry’ periods.  Scope out the competition and see where you can fit in.  Start marketing yourself even before your website is fully live to drum up interest.  In short, treat as you would treat a new store that you’re opening at the mall and you’ll find that your success rate jumps.

Secret #3: Patience

The internet may have opened the door (wider) for instant gratification, but the business world is still one ruled by patience and diligence.  While many of the glittery ads may claim that you can make a thousand dollars in your first month, the reality is that for most businesses, it can take three to six to twelve months or longer, depending on what kind of cash flow you want.  For the truly ‘successful’ online businesses (ones that allow you to stay home all of the time and make a lot of passive income), unless you get incredibly lucky, you’re looking at six to twelve months of hard work often with a few different projects going.  Having patience may be the most important secret to successful online business there is.

Three no-so secrets to successful online business: connections, giving it the best treatment and patience.  Follow these and you’re far more likely to succeed than many of your counterparts who are just coming in and expecting to get rich quick with no effort.
