You’ve likely heard of the trend of ‘flipping houses’.  The idea behind flipping houses is to buy a cheap and run down building or home, fix it up, decorate it and then sell it at a large profit.  Flipping websites is much the same; you can buy an expired website and/or domain name at a highly discounted price and then put your work into ‘flipping’ it.

However, the real idea behind flipping websites is to not only flip it, but sell it.  You can use auction sites such as Flippa to buy a site cheap (usually one with next to nothing on it or needing a lot of work), fill it, and then sell it back out again.  Do it properly, and you can easily make thousands of dollars on a website that maybe cost you less than a hundred dollars.  However, the trick is to not only build up your site into something worth selling, but to also sell it in such a way that you can make good money; show its potential and profits without throwing up any red flags as to why you’re selling it.  You have ride the fine line between having a site that is more profitable than when you purchased it and making sure that people actually believe it’s worth buying when you’re selling it!  If you get the knack of it though, flipping websites for money can make you quite a bit of money and there will always be new projects to look forward to instead of getting mired in one website.

You can make money flipping websites and some people make fairly good money at it.  Just keep in mind that it is a bit time consuming and takes some effort, but it also pays off well and means that you can take on new projects every so often.  All in all, when it is done well, website flipping is a good way to make money online.

Ways to Make Money that You May Not Have Considered

When one things of ways to make money online, most people think of things like selling products.  A slice of people may think of selling services such as freelance writing, freelance artist, graphic artist or website builder.  However, the internet is a wide and varied place to work in and there are ways to make money that you may not have considered before.  If things like selling products and writing or art don’t appeal to you, what else can you do?

Game Tester

Believe it or not, you can be paid to test video games at home-if you know where to look for the work.  Many social network game designers look for testers and are willing to pay some money for the pleasure of your gaming experience.  Other companies are willing to pay for game testers in their own home.  The trick of course is to find a legitimate company to work for that will actually pay you for your time.  You will probably also have to go through something of a pseudo-interview and prove you know what you’re doing.

Hosting Webinars

This one only works if you are established in something, but if you are considered an expert in a field, you can make a bit of money by hosting webinars to teach others.  A webinar is a seminar held over the web; it usually involves things like having power point presentations, surveys and polls, Q&A periods and other things.  You can charge an admission for people to go on your seminar and make a bit of money.

Paid Surveys

Probably the easiest way to make money online is to do paid surveys.  Companies the world over are happy to pay people for their opinions and doing it over the internet is faster and cheaper than any other method.  The trick of course is to find survey companies that are willing to give you money and not other things.  This will take some searching, but it can put some money in your pocket.

Silly?  Well, maybe, but if you’re a good poker player and you don’t live in Nevada, you may want to consider online poker.  Beware: gambling is addictive and if you cannot afford it, you shouldn’t do it!  But if you can afford it, rags to riches stories abound for online poker, just as they do for any gambling, and you get to have a fun time with people all over the world to boot.  Just like real gambling, make sure you start small and get lots of practice first.
