When most people start blogging, they focus all of their energies on creating content for their blog that will attract readers and perhaps attract people to click on ads so the blogger can make a bit of money. However, choosing the right appearance for your blog is also very important. New readers will judge how well much time your blog is worth based on its appearance-the adage that you have eight seconds to hold the average web surfer’s attention holds true-and that means you need a good theme for your blog. There are plenty of free themes out there to use, but many of them tend towards generic. If you want something more vibrant and personal, then you should check out WordPress Elegant Themes.
The Elegant Themes set was created by Nick Roach who hosts an Elegant Themes club where members can peruse and use one of over sixty themes with more coming every month. What’s really cool about the WordPress elegant themes is that not only are they attractive, but they can be modified in order to suit your specific needs. And joining the club costs not a hundred dollars, not fifty, but thirty-nine dollars. When you compare this to the price to commission a website design (up to $3500 in some cases), you’ll see that you can save a ton of money which can then be put into other things.
Unwrapping your elegant themes will yield you some cool goodies. For example, you get your image and a bunch of fonts as a matter of course. You can take out the ‘Made by Elegant Themes’ link if you like, though of course the creator appreciates the kudos by leaving it in. Then some themes have other perks; for example, the Chameleon elegant theme changes skin color so you can adjust it to suit your needs. The My Cuisine theme features a template for menus you can post online if you own a restaurant or are blogging about one. And the InReview theme lets you create a site that is dead easy to navigate so you can review anything under the sun and keep it all together.
Is there anything bad to keep your eye on? Not really; the price tag may frighten off a few brand new bloggers, but for more experienced ones, it’s a bargain. And waiting for new themes every month may make you fidget; conversely, you may be tempted to change up every few weeks and confuse your readers! But as to the actual WordPress elegant themes, the creator has made something that is easy to use, eye catching, and ideal for any kind of blogger. If you want to make sure to rope your readers in and keep them, an Elegant theme from Nick Roach may be just the way for you to go.

The thesis theme from WordPress is one of the most well known and famous of WordPress themes, largely because it is so extensive, easy to use, and can be customized without you needing to be a programmer. If you are a blogger using WordPress, what should you know about Thesis and is it worth the $87.00 price tag?
Thesis theme was developed by Chris Pearson a couple of years ago; it really took off in 2010 as it gained a lot of notice due to its sleek design, typography, and mechanical conveniences like built in SEO and threaded commenting. The community and forums are always useful and supportive and there is plenty of room for customization. The Thesis theme has the following characteristics that makes it worthwhile for many bloggers to use:
• Flexible. You can design your site to have one column, two or three with just a couple clicks of the button and that’s as soon as you get it.
• SEO and comment threading integrated. No more plug-ins for these basic functions. Thesis also features a multimedia box for targeted advertising so you can monetize your blog.
• No need to update. Each ‘edition’ of Thesis is compatible with upgraded editions, so you don’t have to worry about updated or things getting thrown out of whack whenever the creator tweaks something.
• Customizable. You can add tons of header ‘hooks’ and lots of your own pictures. You can keep all of your changes in one place so that they are easy to see and deal with
• Sleek design and great typography. Pearson is known for his typography designs and Thesis is no different.
However, new themes such as Elegant Themes are catching up in terms of popularity for one big reason: ease of customization. Although Thesis claims to be easy to customize, a quick look at the forums reveals a lot of users with simple questions who don’t know the answers. For people who are just interested in blogging, not in learning web design or SEO tags, Thesis may not be right for them. And then there is the matter of the rather steep price tag for a theme: $87.00 which is more than double the cost of other premium themes, though Thesis can be used in other blogs as well as WordPress without paying extra for it.
All in all, Thesis is a very good theme to use if you know what you’re doing with it. It’s very customizable, has a nice design, is easy to update, and contains things like SEO automatically. However, the price tag combined with the need to know some programming will likely spook novice bloggers as well as people who just want things to be automated. If you want a good, solid theme and you have some experience in customization, then Thesis themes may be worth looking at.
